Introduction
OCZ is back up to their old tricks again, market presence and domination. Since the inception of the OCZ Power Stream Series ask any true enthusiast what Power Supply is the best, or what are they running in their system (http://XtremeSystems.org/forums) and you will most likely get the same response. OCZ. I have reviewed numerous Power Supplies since I reviewed the OCZ Power Stream 520 Watt and I have always reinstalled it after the review. I had a few PSUs that died after 30 mins of stress testing, I’m not quite sure if it was a quality issue or the amount of juice my system requires but I have never had a problem while using my trusty OCZ Power Stream Power Supply Unit. Until someone can deliver me a PSU more stable and reliable the OCZ 520 will remain my main Power Supply Unit.
A few weeks ago I was contacted by Jessica at OCZ to check out one of their new GameXStreme Power Supplies. Now I haven’t had much luck with a few other vendors lately. But this was OCZ – could they deliver a product better than the only one I trusted? A few days later it arrived. I delayed testing in the hopes of arranging a few reviews at once – changing Cases, Radiators and Power Supplies at the same time would really be great – unfortunately my luck and timing never seem to occur at the same time. Anyways, OCZ had the GameXStream delivered a few days later, double packed and well protected. Here is a look at the retail packaging as ours arrived.
