Introduction
Today 3DXtreme has the pleasure of reviewing the latest product in an ever growing line of products from our friends over at OCZTechnology. Up for review today is OCZ’s new 2 GB dual channel memory kit of PC-4000. This kit features two 1024MB or 1GB sticks of memory and is targeted towards gamers desiring 2GB of memory while being able to still run a command rate of 1T. Any gamer knows that the more memory one can afford to have in their rig the smoother everything on the PC will run, including games. This became very evident with the new EA Games release of Battlefield 2. Many people who were running this game were having choppy game play issues and were suggested to either drop their graphic settings or try 2GB of memory. With full map loads exceeding 1.5GB it was easy to see hard drive caching was causing some of this choppiness.
A few companies have stepped up and delivered 2GB memory kits, OCZ is the latest to enter the fray.
