Introduction
Today 3DXtreme is taking a look at some new Redline Memory from our friends over at Mushkin. Mushkin has long been known for producing some of the best Memory products available in the world. With competitors like OCZ, Corsair and G.Skill the memory market is a difficult world to survive in. Mushkin has been in the memory market since 1994 and with the launch of the Redline products we have a feeling Mushkin will be around for quite awhile.

We received a 1 GB kit of Mushkin HP (High Performance) 3200 Redline memory for review. The kit came in a standard blister package sporting the Mushkin name.

I was a bit anxious to find out exactly what this product was about. I’ve seen other overclockers killing Redline Memory by pumping 3.5v through it. Using the DFI Ultra-D Motherboard I had decided that going above the 3.2v stock vDimm limit was as far as I was comfortable going. Moving jumpers on this Motherboard allows for up to 4.0 vDimm however I wasn’t comfortable going this far. On the Mushkin website this memory was spec’d for DDR400 operation at 2-3-2-5 timings at 2.7 volts and can operate at DDR400 2-2-2-5 at 2.9 volts.

The Mushkin Redline memory uses Winbond UTT ICs on a Brain Power PCB. What many people may not realize is that UTT stands for UnTesTed. So the ICs are basically unlabelled and binned by whoever is assembling them, in this case Mushkin. The PCB is a jet black, 6 layer design from Brain Power, Brain Power PCBs are known for their overclocking abilities.
