Logitech G9 Laser Mouse Review
Author: Dean Nottis
Date: September 25, 2007
Supplied By: Logitech
Price: $99 USD

A Closer Look
The Logitech G9 comes with two grips, with more available separately for purchase. The packaging used was unique and allowed for both grips to be displayed.

Removing the G9 from the box here is what we’re left with, a rather unique looking mouse with a braided cable.

This is a look at the G9 with the wider, satin finished grip.

On the bottom of the Logitech G9 is the button that changes the mouse through the different scroll modes. Also located here is the profile button. This is used with the stored profiles you may keep in the mouse. These allow you to bring the mouse with you and retain your personalized settings.

Pushing the button on the back of the G9 releases the grip.

On the left is the slimmer, DryGrip grip. This grip is a harder plastic with a slimmer feel; this was my preferred grip when using the G9. On the right is the wide bodied satin finished grip. The whole feel of this mouse changes once the grip has been changed. The feel, the finish it’s really like having more than one mouse.

Logitech G9 Breath mints anyone?

Nope, this container holds the different weights that are included with the Logitech G9. The user is able to fine tune the feel to exactly what they want.

Here is a look at the holder for the weights. Four weights can be installed at the same time.

Here is a look at the Logitech G9 with the DryGrip grip. Now we have a slightly slimmer version of the G9.

With the Logitech G9 connected and working we can see the resolution indicators on the G9. Three bars even though you can have more resolution options than this setup for the mouse. Just above the indicator LEDs is the +/- keys to change the resolution.

The software
Taking a look at the software shows that the options are just endless. This mouse is fully programmable and these profiles can be stored onboard!! I’ve included some screenshots of the Logitech SetPoint software. Most of the options are self explanatory.
