Introduction
Recently 3DXtreme has been taking a look at high end air coolers. Products like Thermaltakes' Big Typhoon, Blue Orb II and the Artic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro have all been reviewed within the last few months. Air cooling with products like these allow for some great overclocks - however would a high end air cooler ever be able to keep pace with an entry level water cooling setup? How about a one piece unit from the likes of Cooler Master? Today that’s just what we are going to set out to see.

This product, while not being brand new on the market, never got the attention it deserved. I remember seeing this entry level, all-in-one product coming to the market, being launched and listed at online vendor with relatively little fanfare. A few reviews popped up on the internet shortly after its arrival to the market however none really showed how well this Cooler performed against air cooling with comparative results; most suggested it wasn't for overclockers. I remember reading an issue of Maximum PC where the Aquagate received a great review and delivered great overclocking results on the Intel P4 platform. Comparing it to some other more costly entry level water coolers the results were impressive and caught my attention. I have always been apprehensive about water cooling; you know the risks and all. So when I saw this product I was so impressed that I thought this would be the only type of water cooler I'd like to give a try. Thanks to Yolanda from Cooler Master my kit was delivered about a week after my request for this review.

Here are the contents of the package as it came. This is the R120 unit that uses a 120MM fan.
