Introduction:
Today 3DXtreme has the pleasure of reviewing the latest AMD64 motherboard from Albatron. Albatron has always produced some of the best quality products in their respective product lines, will the K8X800 Pro II provide a motherboard worthy of the Albatron name?

The Albatron K8X800 Pro II is built on the ever popular VIA K8T800 chipset. The K8X800 Pro II provides an impressive feature set including 3Com Gigabyte LAN, VIA VT1720 Evny 24PT 7.1-Channel Audio, 2x150 SATA Ports and 8 USB 2.0 ports. We will get into the specifics in a bit. The VIA K8T800 features a Hyper Transport that sports a 16-Bit Bus Width for both the Upstream and the Downstream. Running at 800 Mhz or an effective system bus of 1600 Mhz, the VIA Chipset is theoretically much faster than that of the nVidia Nforce3-150 chipset. Today we will be comparing the Albatron K8X800 Pro II to the Soltek VIA K8T800 motherboard. Included with the Albatron K8X800 Pro II is everything needed for a smooth and quick installation.
